Birthdays, Barack, and Bamboo!
Seth and I just recently returned from a long weekend of fun! We began the weekend with Philip's surprise 40th birthday party in Hermitage. Then, we traveled to Indiana, PA for a pit-stop and spent some time with the Rice's. We hit the road early on Sunday and spent some time sightseeing in D.C. and I did some touristy things while Seth attended his energy conference. The pictures below help to illustrate the weekend, including the party, sightseeing and the National Zoo. Seth was very upset that he did not have a chance to see the pandas!

Let's Get It Started!
Just a few pictures from the NFL Season Kick Off concert with Tim McGraw and the Black Eyed Peas! It was awesome and we're so glad we braved the estimated 60,000+ crowd. They definitely transformed Point State Park into a great party.

Happy Labor Day!
Summer has flown by with lots of work and family events, including Seth's 30th birthday party (sorry, no exciting vacation stories to share with anyone).... We do have some great news to share - Kristen finished her administrative certification through Gannon University a couple weeks ago so she is officially qualified to be an administrator in a school district (scary!). It was a long process, with lots of classes and internship time, but was worth the effort.
We haven't done any major home remodeling projects lately. Our last project was painting our dining room (twice actually, the original color just didn't work). That room is 90% done, we hope. The next big project will be a bathroom remodel, but that will have to wait until next spring.
We hope you had a nice Labor Day weekend and that you are easing into fall. For all those out of town friends and family, we would love to see you in Pittsburgh - we love visitors.
